Debby Michael has been the organist at Covenant since November, 1997. Prior to that time, she served in the same position at Schoolfield United Methodist Church for 29 years. She studied piano for eight years, beginning at age seven, and then began organ lessons at the age of 15 at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, where she was a member. She majored in organ at Memphis State University and later studied with the organist at Christ United Methodist Church. Debby and her husband, Robert, are the parents of two grown sons and one daughter-in-law and are lifelong Methodists. Debby also served as a church secretary for 22 years and is now retired from that position. The Michaels are active in the Sanctuary Choir, Christ's Garden Sunday School Class, Disciple Bible Study, and Angel Food Ministries at Covenant.
