Lenten Worship Series - "Into Your Hands"
Our Lenten worship series for 2012 is titled "...Into Your Hands..." It comes from Luke 23.46, " Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, ‘Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.’ Having said this, he breathed his last."
Throughout Lent we will be focusing upon the promises of God. The Bible shows us again and again that God has sought to be in relationship with humanity and has engaged in promises, covenants, if you will, to help make it happen. From the promise to Noah, the call of Abram, the Ten Commandments and the very life of Jesus there is a manifest expression of God's deepest desire of a life giving relationship. For Christians, the words of Jesus upon the cross bear witness to the depths God has gone to make this so.
All are encouraged to live with these Biblical promises as a guide for discernment, understanding and discovery:
First Week of Lent beginning - February 26, Genesis 9.8-17
Second Week of Lent beginning - March 4, Genesis 17.1-7, 15-16
Third Week of Lent beginning - March 11, Exodus 20.1-17 -

Palm Sunday/Holy Week beginning April 1. Mark 11.1-11
