Orbit is Covenant's Sunday evening program for kindergarten through sixth graders. It meets Sunday nights 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. during the school year.

On Sunday nights we have a modified rotation model format:

• 5:00 to 5:45 - active gym/outdoor play
• 5:45 to 6:10 - snack supper ($2.00 donation)
• 6:10 to 7:00 - kids divide up into two to three rotation groups for science, art, drama, music, games, kitchen, and computer.
• 7:00 to 7:30 - kids participate in VBS style worship with active songs, skits, and communal prayer.

Our theme on Sunday evenings for Spring of 2005 is “Teach Us How to Pray”. Kids will learn prayer is talking to God. They will learn there are many ways to talk to God and many different kinds of prayers. Jesus taught his disciples to pray and gave them the example of the Lord’s Prayer. Kids will learn the Lord’s Prayer through songs, movements and games. They will also explore this crucial prayer’s teachings about such important life themes as forgiveness, temptation, and doing God’s will.

Each Sunday they will need to bring a Bible and $2.00 for the snack supper.

Parents must accompany their child into the gathering area of the Smith Covenant Center to sign in their child at 5:00 p.m. They may sign them out and pick them up at 7:30 p.m. in The Promise Land (behind Smith Covenant Center, see campus map).
