Wednesday Night Dinner and Programs
Fall 2016
Our Fall Wednesday Night Dinner and Program series will begin on August 17, 2016. Dinner is served at 5:30pm followed by programming for all ages. Our children meet in the Promise Land (grades K-5th) have bible lessons, crafts and games. Our youth (grades 6-12) meet in the youth loft area and the nights are full of discussion as friends come together and try to decipher the scriptures and understand how it should guide our lives.
For adultsThe Prayers of Jesuswill be the topic for the first six weeks:
Prayer was the guiding and sustaining spiritual force in the life of Jesus. Every significant decision in his ministry was done after consulting with his Heavenly Father in prayer. He often withdrew from the disciples and crowds to have a moment of solitude, rest, and renewal through the act of prayer. Jesus spoke and listened in these moments and invites us to do the same. What can we learn from the scriptures that record the prayers and prayerful actions of Christ? In this six-week series, we will explore the prayers of Jesus to gain new insights into the historical, biblical, and personal context of how, when, and why Jesus prayed. The class meets August 17-Sept. 21 at 6:30 on Wednesday nights in the Spirit Center of the Smith Covenant Center building, led by Rev. David Weatherly.

What Methodists Believe
At our best…We embrace God’s grace.
God loves us completely before we know it. That love, that grace, is a free gift offered to all people. We accept God’s free gift of love through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ and open ourselves to the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit, who accompanies us and empowers us to become like Christ for the world. One God creates in love, saves us for the sake of love, and renews us through love.
