Trunk or Treat is Sunday, October 25, from 2:30 to 4:30. Pull your car into the lot, open the trunk, decorate it however you like, and hand out candy to whoever walks up.
Here is why we give an afternoon to it. It is the easiest welcome we offer all year. Nobody needs convincing to come get candy. Children run between the cars, parents stand around and talk, and by half past four a good many people have had a genuinely nice time on our lot. That is worth two hours of anybody's Sunday.
There are two ways in. Sign up for a parking space on the boards in the Narthex and outside the Spirit Center, arrive by 2:00 to park and set up, and bring enough candy for a steady line. Or, if parking a car is not your thing, candy donation bins are behind the main desk in the Smith Covenant Center and in the Narthex. Plenty of people help that way and it matters just as much.
Our youth have dinner together right afterward, from 5:00 to 7:00, so the evening keeps going once the lot clears.
Come be part of it. Would you sign up this Sunday, so we know how much lot to save?
